The hum of the DRIFTCORE fades as stabilization completes. A golden-green planet spins beneath them, swirling with strange glimmering clouds.

TRAVELER
“Deploy a few drones to the surface, Sabine.
I want to see what’s down there.”

A soft whirr echoes.

Three sleek spherical drones drop from the ship’s undercarriage.
They descend, cutting through the teal mist in elegant spirals.
On the main display, multiple POV feeds begin to flicker in.

SABINE
(with a curious edge)
“Altitude declining. Visual clarity stabilizing. Lifeforms confirmed.”

The feed sharpens.
Massive wet dunes stretch out like breathing muscle. Pools of viscous blue algae shimmer with electric pulses.

In the distance, creatures writhe and tumble in an unrelenting ballet of survival. Six-limbed, semi-transparent, pulsing with bio-luminescence. They bump, shove, and snarl—not out of hatred, but hunger. Instinct reigns.

SAI (arms crossed, eye-ports narrowing)
“This looks… primal.”

He leans closer to the feed.

“No hierarchy. No structure. Every movement is survival.
It’s like… the atmosphere itself triggers aggression.”

SABINE (quietly)

“The air is thick with photonic algae—carbon-independent, nitrogen-rich. It creates bio-reactivity… emotional volatility.”

She pauses. The drones zoom in.

One of the creatures lifts its head—its body covered in shifting hues of cyan and plum.

It screams without sound—mouth open to the sky.

TRAVELER
“They’re not evil. Just… unshaped.”

He studies them with a strange recognition.

“What would happen if we gave them balance?”

SABINE
(almost hesitant)
“Then we’d be gods.”

SAI
(half a grin, half a warning)
“Or worse. Gardeners.”

Silence.

Then, a pulse of light flickers at the center of the algae field—something growing. Not writhing.

Not fighting.

SABINE (low tone)
“Traveler… something is evolving.”
