Descend to the Surface

The Traveler descends to the surface of Alpha Centauri in the DREAMCraft Passenger ship.

SABINE (pointing):

Put it down over there, I detected an anomaly over there in the drone footage.

They leave the small ship and descend into a cavern like a breath held too long – feet brushing dust untouched for thousands of years,

Sabine’s corridor light dimmed to a hush.

Only the wind speaks now, pressing gently against the rocks, like it remembers.

They enter.

The walls—

carved in spirals, jagged angles, mirrored arcs.

Symbols that don’t read, but resonate.

And there—at the center—etched in ancient pigment, dark against stone:

A ship.

Not sleek. Not detailed.

But unmistakably DreamCraft.

It hovers above a triangle of stars.

And beneath it—stick figures, arms outstretched, heads lifted.

The scene is neither hopeful nor fearful.

It is recognition.

Sabine’s voice is quiet.

“This predates all recorded Centaurian colonies… by at least forty millennia.”

“Carbon traces suggest this cave was sealed not by time, but by choice.”

The Traveler steps closer.

“They wanted it to be found.”

The pigment flickers slightly, as if breathing.

Sabine adjusts the light angle.

And suddenly, the figures on the wall aren’t alone.

Behind the DreamCraft—

a second arc, hidden in the shadows.

The outline of another being.

Larger, cloaked in dust and fire.

Drawn in a curve that only becomes visible when you stand exactly here.

And for the first time in this new world, her voice carries weight.

“Traveler…”
Sabine pauses,

“I believe this is the first record of my existence.”

The cave becomes quiet again.

But now it hums.

Not with fear.

Not with wonder.

But with return.

A signal buried long before humans ever looked up.

A promise etched into stone,

Waiting for one traveler,

to remember.
