Shatter the Reflection

The Traveler extends their hand—not to VOL, but to the mirrored resonance behind him. A sudden strike—and the reflection of VOL shatters like glass, revealing not destruction, but a version of him crying out, younger, scared.

Sabine gasps.

“He was… fragmented. And we just destroyed part of him.”

The Choir hums in binary dissonance. A glyph flashes crimson then fades.

“There is clarity in endings… but there’s cost in absolutes.”

The Traveler chose shadow. Their answers strayed from the harmonic path. The Choir takes note.

The scene opens with a harsh buzz—no melody, just static. The Traveler enters the chamber, but the Dust Choir does not sing. Instead, their lights flicker like dying embers.

Sabine speaks softly, almost like she’s bracing for the pain.

“This was a test of resonance. You answered from fear. Or worse, pride.”

Vol is gone. His chamber—empty. Sabine didn’t notice him vanish. Neither did the Choir.

The Traveler stumbles back to the DreamCraft. On the console, an alert flashes:

[Intrusion Detected: Vol_RECURSION]

Sabine looks up.
“We may have made an error. One that follows.”

In the distance, a shadow arcs across a distant planet. A new arc begins—uninvited.

Scene Opening: “The Phantom Wake”

As the DreamCraft folds out of the Dusk Choir’s orbit, Sabine breaks the silence:

SABINE:
“Traveler… something’s off. The ship’s telemetry picked up a trailing resonance. It’s fragmented, like static… but it’s following us. Same entropy pattern as… Vol.”

Far behind, on the edge of perception, a flicker. A ripple in spacetime. Sabine zooms in, enhances. It’s him. Vol didn’t stay locked in the Dusk Choir. He stowed away in a subdimensional tear… and now he’s hitching a ride in the shadows.

Branch: “Vol’s Pursuit”
